Jersey City downtown is home to the premier shopping destination in Hudson County, the Newport Center Mall in the heart of the Newport Hudson Waterfront Community. It is adjacent to the Holland Tunnel and easily accessible from the Hudson Bergen Light Rail as well as the PATH train at Exchange Place. The Newport Center offers 3 levels of shopping. There are 4 department stores: JCPenney, Kohl’s, Macy’s and Sears and more than 130 specialty shops including A/X Armani Exchange, Aeropostale, Aldo Shoes & Accessories, The LOFT, American Eagle Outfitters, Brookstone, The Children’s Place, Coach, Express / Express Men, Fossil, Godiva Chocolatier, Le Chateau, Sephora, Swarovski Crystal and Sephora. In addition there is a 1000 seat Food Court with over 19 eateries, and an 11 screen cinema. Newport Center is in the city’s Urban Enterprise Zone which means shoppers pay a reduced sales tax of 3.5% and tax free shopping on apparel. The Mall is open from 10am to 9:30 pm with extended hours on holidays.
